ASAGA - NOT THE LATEST SUSHI CRAZE

Further to my piece about the go-around last week I am encouraged to read an excellent article on the subject in the May edition of the Flight Safety Foundation's magazine Aero Safety World - if you contact me on jgillespie@gatesaviation.com I can send you a scanned copy. The article is based largely on a study by the French Bureau d'Enquetes et d'Analyses (BEA), their version of the AAIB or NTSB. You can download a copy of the study in English (or French) from their website under the title 'ASAGA Study' - ASAGA standing for 'AEROPLANE STATE AWARENESS DURING GO-AROUND'. New one on me but it makes interesting reading; I suggest starting at the summary on page 34.
