WHAT HAVE I DONE..?

In a quiet moment I began to fear that I was under-achieving so I paused to jot down what I had done in the last three years. These are the highlights:
2011
·        Developed and delivered several tailored training sessions on Safety Management Systems (SMS) for Senior Airline Managers at Indigo and Spicejet in Delhi
·        Supported Deloitte with operational and safety expertise for a major airline safety evaluation in Australia
·        Researched and wrote case studies for IATA’s Runway Excursion Risk Reduction Toolkit and for the Flight Management System (FMS) Data Entry Error project
·        Provided expert witness services in the claim against GOL Airlines following the Amazon mid-air collision, including giving evidence at arbitration
·        Spoke on risk management at the Willis Aviation Insurance conference in Singapore
·        Session chair for the Flight Safety Foundation safety seminar in Singapore
·        Prepared and chaired all 3 meetings of the Gulf Flight Safety Committee in the UAE
·        Chaired the World Food Programme Humanitarian Aviation conference in Mexico
2012
·        Commenced a 2 year project to design and implement SMS at Cobham Aviation Services UK business as interim Director of Safety & Compliance
·        Selected and recruited a group of safety professionals to form Cobham’s safety team
·        Approved by UK CAA as Quality Postholder for approvals under EASA Parts 145, 147, 21G and M subpart G
·        Managed the internal serious incident investigation for an operator following a runway overrun
·        Provided expert witness services in the historical claim against an airline following a fatal accident in 1992
·        Delivered SMS ‘train the trainer’ sessions for Indigo in Delhi
·        Edited IATA’s Radio Telephony Phraseology research document
·        Conducted the internal investigation following a historic military jet undercarriage collapse incident
·        Chaired the WFP Humanitarian Aviation conference in Jordan
2013
·        Headlined an internal aviation safety conference for a UK aviation business
·        Completed the implementation of SMS at Cobham to the approval of the UK CAA
·        Managed the provision of safety systems and services as Director of Safety & Compliance
·        Provided expert consultancy services in a passenger claim against an airline
·        Provided expert witness services in several staff claims against an airline
·        Supported a cluster of small aviation businesses at Bournemouth Airport with safety and quality management
·        Procured and managed consultancy services for the implementation of a flight data monitoring programme
·        Chaired the WFP Humanitarian Aviation conference in Morocco
This year is shaping up to be fairly busy too…
